Your guide will meet you at the hotel lobby after breakfast, and take you on a 3-hour tour of the Finnish capital. The tour takes in the most important and interesting parts of Helsinki, acquainting you with the historical center and Senate Square, the diplomatic quarter, the Presidential Palace, City Hall and the Parliament building. You will stop at the Sibelius Monument, dedicated to the great Finn composer Sibelius, and the Temppeliaukio Church (that is built in the rock). Lunch in one of the local restaurants. After lunch, your guide will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the airport, where you take a short flight (1 hour 15 minutes) from Helsinki to Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland. Rovaniemi was completely destroyed during World War II, and rebuilt by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. The streets are laid out like a pair of reindeer antlers. Among the attractions are the award-winning Arktikum, a new multi-disciplinary science center providing an insight into life in the Arctic region, and Santa Claus’ workshop, and Santa Park on the Arctic Circle. Upon arrival to Rovaniemi – transfer to Hotel Santa Claus in the center of the city. Dinner at the hotel.
